Registration of Non-Owner-Occupied Dwellings, Rooming Houses, and Vacant Structures

Ordinance 18-130, which substantially amended Subtitle 5 {“Licensing of Rental Dwellings”} of this article, also amended §§ 4-1, 4-6, 4-8, and 4-9 of this subtitle, all with a general effective date of August 1, 2018. Subsequently, Ordinance 20-428 (i) added a new § 4-12 to require the public posting of certain vacant structures with information of the structure’s ownership; (ii) repealed a provision (§ 4-7) that required certain vacant structure registration information to be confidential; and (iii) added a new § 4-14 to require the Housing Commissioner to submit an annual report detailing compliance with this subtitle – all with an effective date of May 1, 2021.
